Description

Construction Socam has been mandated to renovate this historic building located at 105 McGill Street in Old Montreal. This 400,000 square foot project, spread over ten floors, involved several challenges, both architectural (historic building) and operational (research laboratories, offices and warehouse).

Approach
This major project lasted two and a half years and had to be planned carefully since administrative staff, and scientific researchers would continuously occupy the building. Construction Socam used a phase-by-phase approach so that the client could pursue its daily operations.

Work
The work was very complex from an execution point of view since the vast majority of the project consisted in adapting the historic building in order to install four floors of research laboratories, including several premises which had to meet very strict sterilization standards.
